Your capital has to work for you. Which opportunities and risks does AI create?

You don't need to use AI yourself every day. For you the question is what AI changes about the economic assumptions your investments rest on.

Productivity, cost structures, competitive advantages and value chains can shift. That opens markets and at the same time puts existing positions under pressure.

What can shift

On the opportunity side:

  • productivity growth in sectors where work is now expensive and scarce;
  • companies that deliver far more with small teams;
  • new markets, infrastructure and technology;
  • cost structures that change structurally.

On the risk side:

  • business models that lose value;
  • competitive advantages that disappear;
  • specialised services that become a commodity;
  • margins and value chains that shift;
  • market expectations running ahead of economic reality;
  • concentration of your portfolio around the same AI expectations.

I do not give investment advice. What I can do: think along about what really changes technically and which assumptions that affects.

Looking further

Geldtuin is my own environment (in Dutch) about investing, building wealth and calm choices over speculation — free to read, with a one-to-one for those who want to go further. The essays on abundance are about exactly the shift described above: as thinking work gets cheaper, where value ends up changes.

What gets built in practice is on Products.

Investing together

Two directions, depending on what you are looking at.

Investing in Modelmatic

Low-risk pilots as the commercial entry, in regulated domains where AI value is high but risk and compliance carry a lot of weight. Products are live, and there are engagements in quality systems and process automation. Two decades of aviation safety, systems engineering and programme management underneath.

Co-investing through Tienknoop

Tienknoop is the holding company from which I build and steer companies, and put AI into real processes. If you have a proposition where AI can make the difference, I am glad to think along — and if it fits, I co-invest through Tienknoop.

Who this is for

You are an angel, family office or operator-investor. You want AI exposure in regulated domains, or you know Modelmatic / Tienknoop as an operator.

Hype and defensible value are hard to separate. You are looking for proof in real processes, not decks alone.

Maybe you are allocating to AI or deep tech, or you are considering co-invest or an advisory role.

This is less of a fit if you are looking for spray-and-pray SaaS deals, only want to “send a deck” without a conversation, or expect named client cases that fall under NDA.
